Choose2Care will be happy to provide all donors with paperwork recording the nature and value of donations of Choose2Care. The donations are recorded in the name of the charity that benefits from the donation and the tax receipt is issued in that charity’s name.
The tax receipt issued by Choose2Care entitles the person named on the receipt to a tax deduction. In the case of a cash donation, this is straightforward. In the case of the donation of an object such as art, an appliance donation or real property such as a timeshare donation, the IRS allows you to claim its Fair Market Value as a tax deduction. With Vehicle donations, including Boats, the tax deduction allowed is the same as our selling price, which will be stated on the receipt.
Choose2Care acknowledges and appreciates the value of all these types of donations, and assures donors that appropriate paperwork will be delivered to them promptly upon end of auction. Choose2Care recommends that all donors consult tax professionals with specific questions about tax deductible donations.
The donor provides Choose2Care with a brief description of the item being donated, along with photos (digital or hard copy) of the item – and that’s it! With this information, Choose2Care turns a donation, no matter where it is, into cash for the charity of choice.
We provide the effort and the technological and fund-raising expertise that’s needed to make the most of your donated items. We know that some items, like time-shares, can be difficult to donate and that many charities and fundraisers won’t accept these as donations because it’s too complicated. We can handle it and are happy to do the work. We are fundraisers and our specialty is having the imagination and wherewithal to do what other fundraisers can’t or simply won’t do.
As with all charitable donations, you will receive a tax receipt, written in the charity’s name, which entitles you as donor to deduct a certain amount from your taxes. The dollar amount on the receipt will be determined by the final sale price of your donated item at auction.
