Our program takes advantage of the internet to make the most of charitable donations from people who live all over the United States. We use internet auctions to convert donated objects or opportunities – anything from an appliance to a time-share – into much-needed cash for charities.
Choose2Care can accept nearly anything as a donation. Furniture, appliances, art, fine collectibles, jewelry, boats, snowmobiles, tools – all of these things are gratefully accepted for auction by Choose2Care. The items must be in saleable condition. Choose2Care does not accept clothes as donations; if people have clothes that they’d like to donate, we urge them to look into local charitable organizations in their area.
The donor provides Choose2Care with a brief description of the item being donated, along with photos (digital or hard copy) of the item – and that’s it! With this information, Choose2Care turns a donation, no matter where it is, into cash for the charity of choice.
We provide the effort and the technological and fund-raising expertise that’s needed to make the most of your donated items. We know that some items, like time-shares, can be difficult to donate and that many charities and fundraisers won’t accept these as donations because it’s too complicated. We can handle it and are happy to do the work. We are fundraisers and our specialty is having the imagination and wherewithal to do what other fundraisers can’t or simply won’t do.
As with all charitable donations, you will receive a tax receipt, written in the charity’s name, which entitles you as donor to deduct a certain amount from your taxes. The dollar amount on the receipt will be determined by the final sale price of your donated item at auction.
Choose2Care is not a traditional fundraising concern. We are not a commercial operation. We are, like the charities we represent, a non-profit organization. We choose the organizations we work with carefully: these are charities that focus on matters and issues that are just as important to us as they are important to you. We have lots of experience in fundraising and in non-profit work, and we at Choose2Care are pleased and proud to be able to do this work for worthy causes.
